ALTe CEO John Thomas Named to EV 100 List

Dearborn, MI – June 14, 2011 – John Thomas, Founder and CEO of ALTe Powertrain Technologies, developer of the first range-extended plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain for trucks, vans and buses, has been named to the Automotive News Electrifying 100. This first-time listing compiles the 100 most influential people leading the automotive industry toward a more electric-powered future.

“I’m honored to be named to this distinguished group of innovators that includes some of the key players in the electric vehicle industry,” said John Thomas.

This news complements the mark that ALTe has made in the automotive industry capitol of Michigan where they recently signed a seven-year lease for their headquarters in Auburn Hills. ALTe also just announced the creation of an Advisory Board including some of the biggest corporate fleets in the country, as well as a long-term supply agreement for electric motors with Remy.

“This is an exciting time for ALTe and we’re very excited to move into the next phase in our business, which is in converting fleet vehicles to plug-in hybrid electrics across the country” said John Thomas. “This recognition by Automotive News reinforces our goal to revolutionize the fleet vehicle industry.”

Honorees were celebrated at a special ceremony last night at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. The gala included a short reception for the honorees and culminated in a program in the museum theater. The reception took place in conjunction with the Green Car Conference which starts today in nearby Novi, MI. The conference focuses largely on electric and plug-in hybrid technologies and key leaders in the industry.
