Background and ALTe

The U.S. consumes 19 million barrels of oil a day, making it the world’s largest petroleum user.

Although the U.S. is the world’s third largest petroleum producer, it still imports 60% of its oil from foreign countries.

Reducing U.S. dependence on foreign oil by promoting fuel economy and addressing climate change through reductions in emissions have become national priorities.

Transforming the Nation’s automobile transportation system from one based on gasoline to one based on electricity by developing more fuel efficient vehicles with lower emissions will have a significant positive impact towards achieving those objectives.

The name ALTe is a shortened version of the combination of two words: Alternative Energy. The company is dedicated to advancing sustainable mobility by offering practical, well engineered electric and hybrid propulsion system alternatives to the vehicle transportation industry.

As battery cost is still relatively high, ALTe believes that the best transitional
technology currently is the range extended electric powertrain (REEP). Using this ALTe solution, we help customers maximize electric miles driven with no range anxiety.

Management Team

ALTe’s management team shares a common vision: “Advancing sustainable mobility.” It is comprised of a group of talented automobile engineers with extensive experience at leading OEMs and suppliers worldwide and in Silicon Valley. ALTe’s executives are dedicated to building a large, highly profitable company which makes range extended electric vehicle powertrains whose widespread adoption will significantly reduce oil consumption and carbon emissions globally.
